President’s Corner By Amanda Ball

It’s hard to believe the holiday season is here and Thanksgiving break is one short week away. I hope you and your kiddos enjoy the week off and that you have a safe and very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday.

Big Kahuna was a big success! Thank you to everyone that ordered and supported that fundraiser. I do know there were some issues with missing orders or missing items within orders. If you had any issues that still need to be corrected, please go to They will get everything taken care of.

Don’t forget to pick up your Texas Roadhouse Rolls if you purchased them. The gift cards will be delivered to the school to be distributed, but you will need to go to the restaurant to get your rolls, butter & peanuts. Thanks for everyone that supported our Copeland Colts.

Congratulations STEPHANIE MUELLER Our November Volunteer of the Month!

Thank you, Stephanie, for all the hard work and hours you volunteered 2 months in a row. It's people like you that make Copeland the best school our kids can be at. Enjoy your RESERVED parking spot upfront for another month! This is our way of thanking you for everything you do at Copeland Elementary.

Who will it be next month??? Log your hours now. If you need to know how, see the bottom of this newsletter for step by step directions on how to use Raptor, our volunteer hour recording system for CyFair ISD.

VOLUNTEER SHOUT OUTS: New section to the Horseshoe Review. We want to honor all who contribute to our volunteer base.

Volunteer Shout Out to DONA LEROY

Dona, you did an amazing job last month coordinating and making sure ALL Field Days ran smoothly. Thank you for all the hours helping the PE staff and classes that did not have anyone sign up for materials needed that day. You are AMAZING! Couldn't have done it without you.

Volunteer Shout out to ANDREA PACKER

Andrea, thank you for all the time you spend in the library, SRC, Destination Imagination, and Copeland in general. We know you love doing what you do for the school, but we also want you to know we notice what a difference it makes in the kid's learning experience. You enhance the lives of our kids with all your behind the scenes magic!

Volunteer Opportunities by Deepa Ozarkar

We are still in need of a Homeroom Coordinator for Mrs. Tanguay’s 5th grade class. If you are interested in volunteering to be HRC, even if your child is not in one of these classes, please email The VIPS Coordinator will get you connected with your class.

Throughout the year, HRCs will keep you informed of class parties, school events, volunteer opportunities and much more. If you haven’t received any emails from your HRC, please ask your child's teacher for your HRC’s contact information and reach out to the HRC to ensure she has your correct email address.

We still need a lot of help. Volunteers can help all day or for only a few hours.

Also, every 5th grade homeroom has a list of supplies that need to be supplied for the food station and hospitality suite. Check with your homeroom teacher if you haven't gotten the signup. If you can't attend Colonial Day this is an easy, awesome way to help out.

Also, those volunteering have the option to order a Jason's Deli sandwich, chips, pickle spear and a drink for $5. All orders for sandwiches need to be ordered by Monday, November 18th at 3 pm. You can email so I can add you to the order. Money needs to be sent to school with your child by Tuesday, November 19th, labeled "Colonial Day lunch" with your name on it. You can also drop it off at the front desk.

Log your Volunteer Hours to get more money for our school!

Working for our kids as a volunteer is both rewarding and important. Please log your volunteer hours in our Raptor Portal. The more volunteer hours we log the more money we get from the state.

CFISD has provided an online program to make it easier on volunteers to log and track their

volunteer hours. This program is called Raptor, which is part of the V-Soft security software

that helps keep our schools safe.

Copeland does not have logbooks in the front office to record your hours. So, in order to

log your hours, you will need to establish a raptor account. This is quite easy and will allow

you to log your hours at home.

The steps to register online are as follows:

1. Go to or click on the "New to Raptor" button below.

2. Complete this form in its entirety and submit (you must have an email address to do this)

3. You will receive an email from with your account information and password.

4. Once you receive the email use the button below to log in to your account.

5. Add this website to your favorites (this is where you will log hours)

6. Log in with email and password

7. Select campus

8. Select the tabs you will need

This program will be used to determine volunteer of the month and reporting our total volunteer hours to the district, enabling them to apply for various grants and programs.

Log Volunteer Hours Here

If you are a returning volunteer and have a login, use this link to sign in and log your hours.
