A resource for Youth Ministers and Leaders
March 2019
The Beat on the Street
March. isn't it said that it's, "In like a lion and out like a lamb" in reference to the fiercely cold weather? Well, so far it's been mostly, "The Lion of Winter", Brrrrrr! Fortunately, many of us have an abundance of blessings to keep our minds off of the weather; at least a little:)
Our first Youth Lenten retreat held on March 2nd in Gouverneur went beautifully. We had a wonderful time and the young people were inspired and spiritually rejuvenated.
The next Youth Lenten Retreat to be held on March 9th in Ticonderoga is FULL!
Please keep us in your prayers. I'm hoping for favorable weather so safe travels for all attending.
Youth Rally planning is underway. We have all the elements in place. We do need your help with different aspects of the day. I'm looking for Ministers to assist on the following teams:
1. Ice Breakers, and Activity Supervision
2. Check-In/Registration and Swag Bag assembly and distribution
3. Lunch Crew Set up and Clean up
4. Audio/Visual equipment and Musical Entertainment
5. Liturgy and Adoration
6. General Supervision
Please sign up below or reach out to me directly if there is a specific team you would like to serve on. tsemeraro@rcdony.org or 315-393-2920 ext. 1415

Youth Rally
It's hard to be thinking about Spring and Youth Rally but, alas, it is here!
This year's Youth Rally will be held at Trinity School in Massena on April 6th.
Our keynote speaker will be Kevin Dowd. Along with Kevin, we will hear a presentation by Marihon Alzuhairi a refugee who shares an impactful story of escape from violence.
Along with Kevin and Marihon, we will have activities, music, exhibitions,
prayer, mass and more. Lunch will be provided and the young people will receive a great take home "swag bag" with snacks and surprises inside.
This is going to be a great time for our Diocesan youth!
We are going to need some great minds, big hearts, and strong hands to help bring this together. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering by RSVP below and I will contact you with more information.

Taking Care of Yourself
I know all of you are super busy doing so many super things for everyone else. Especially our precious young people. Hey, that can get kinda hard, day after day....right? I encourage you to "Take some time for yourself". It's OK to say "NO" once in a while and say "YES" to some rest and recuperation.
Maybe it's time to re-start a hobby that you may have let go, or start a new one. Take a stroll in the woods for some quiet time. Take a mini adventure and visit a new city. Treat yourself to a night out with energizing people. Visit a spa! I think you get the picture, but in case you need a few more ideas, check out the shots below.
Whatever you do know, that you will be a better minister, mentor, and person if you give your mind, body and soul time to reboot. See you out there!
