As part of the PBIS program, Langston Middle School joined the Great Kindness Challenge for the month of January that included motivational speaker Mr. Jim "Basketball" Jones.
In December, the PBIS team awarded students the opportunity to make gingerbread houses! It was a wonderful reward to end the year with before winter break!
Staff Wellness Initiative
As part of our commitment to staff wellness, Oberlin City School District is excited to announce a special fitness incentive program. For our staff members who join a local gym or workout facility, the District will contribute up to $25 of the first three months' membership fees. The District believes that a healthy body contributes to a healthy mind, and we want to support your well-being journey.
In addition to gym memberships, the District is now including yoga classes, online fitness subscriptions as eligible for the District's contribution of up to $25 off the first three months. We value our staff’s commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
House Bill 123
In 2021, Ohio’s 133rd General Assembly enacted House Bill 123, the “Safety and Violence Education Students (SAVE)" Act. The SAVE Students Act supports Ohio’s strategic plan for education with respect to school security and youth suicide awareness education and training. Within the next few weeks Oberlin City School District, we will be partnering with LCADA, Applewood Center and our own school counselors to support our students.
