Holiday stress: What parents of gifted children need to know

How can you help your gifted child - and yourself - during the holidays? Please check out this helpful article on how to survive the holiday. Wishing you a stress-free holiday! http://giftedchallenges.blogspot.com/2015/12/holiday-stress-what-parents-of-gifted.html

Night of the Notables

Thank you parents for your support last Thursday night. This event was a success thanks to you and your child's hard work.

What we are learning/doing:

ISP:

2nd Grade: Discovering Our National Parks: Students are working on their multimedia presentations.

3rd & 4th Grade: Students should be finished taking their simple notes 2-3 words (not plagarizing). They have the rest of this week in class to research before Christmas. I had advised students that if they still needed information they needed to come for free flow or work on it at home. All students should have research completed by Christmas break.

Math:

** All students should have completed their goal of 50% progress by Wednesday morning in order to attend the reward party.

2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grade: Each student is working and should be progressing in Khan Academy. Students can see their progress and work at their own pace. I am right there to teach different strategies to them if they still don't understand after watching the video, or if I see students struggling on a skill, I will pull them over to the side and do a small lesson on the skill. Students are to work their way through 3 or more activities each math session. Students have also been encouraged to come for free flow or to work at home all year.

Advisory:

2nd & 3rd Graders: Students will participate in team holiday fun activities and be playing some Christmas brain games as time permits.

4th Graders: Students will practice for Quiz Bowl using the lock-out buzzer system. Quiz Bowl will be Friday, January 22nd. If you haven't returned your Quiz Bowl permission slip, please do so by this Friday.
