2019-2020 -- 2nd 9 Weeks Parent Newsletter
November 7, 2019 - January 10, 2020
This Thursday (11/7) your child will be bringing home his or her reading log. All logs are due Friday, January 10th. The Waves of Pages Reading Program encourages students to read for pleasure by providing a chance to earn a FREE admission to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark. We award each student who reads for 10 hours (600 minutes) during the 10-week program with a FREE admission to the waterpark and a special discount offer for up to six family members.
Be Kind by Pat Zeitlow Miller

This sweet and thoughtful picture book shows how to act with thoughtfulness, civilness and kindness.
Students will participate in mindful PIC Stations.
Learn to Use Shelf Markers
Since the beginning of the year PK, Kinder and 1st grade students have been selecting books that have been set out for them. This 9 Weeks, students will begin learning to use shelf markers. We want students to be able to preview books before checking them out. Sometimes this means they will end up putting a book back on the shelf. Shelf markers help ensure books are put back in the correct spot on the shelves. We have over 14,000 titles in our collection and they all have a unique "address" in our library so it's important to make sure they are always in the right place, especially when we are looking for specific titles.
