Lincoln Walkathon 2019
Lincoln staff is proud to announce we will once again be having our Walkathon! Pledge sheets go home soon. Families can make a donation, or use the pledge sheet to pledge money, based on number of laps walked. (Pledge sheets are sent home again on the day of the walkathon with number of laps attached.) All proceeds come directly back to Lincoln's literacy and computer software programs. For every $5.00 pledged, students receive a ticket they can use to enter to possibly win a wide variety of donated prizes. The more tickets you have, the more chances you have to win a prize! Grand prize: $100.00 Dick's Sporting Goods gift card

Setting Limits on Teen Technology Use At Home
In this article in Time, psychologist Jean Twenge (San Diego State University) says
there is credible research linking heavy technology use with the surge in depression and other
mental health issues among adolescents. Here are the limits she has established with her three children:
- No phones or tablets in the bedroom at night; the kids use real alarm clocks to wake up.
- No use of devices within an hour of bedtime; the blue light and psychological stimulation interferes with sleep.
- Device use is limited to two hours of leisure time a day, plus legitimate use for homework.
