Armada Elementary School Newsletter

Week of October 1,2020

Hello Armada Elementary Parents & Students!

Thank you to all our students and parents who participated in our Friday Bulldog Spirit day last week! It was a virtual sea of green in our Zoom meetings and it was great seeing our students and parents showing Bulldog spirit dressed in green during Grab & Go Meal time! Please check out our social media accounts to see our students showing Bulldog pride in their green attire! Student progress reports were completed last week and mailed earlier this week, so you should receive them by the end of this week. Progress Reports were mailed to students in danger of not meeting grade-level standards, so not every student will receive a progress report. If you would like to discuss your child's progress report or request a virtual conference, please contact your child’s teacher.

Thank you, Armada Families!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Arreola

Proud Armada Elementary Principal

Week5 2020 Weekly Video

🎉Congratulations to Jaydon our MVUSD S.T.A.R. Award Recipient of the week!🌟🏅

🎉Congratulations to Mrs. S. Steele our MVUSD S.T.A.R. Award Teacher Recipient !🌟🏅

Ms. Steele supports her 4th/5th grade colleagues by sharing her math instructional videos, strategies for student engagement, instructional platform troubleshooting, and schedules daily collaboration meetings with her teams. She is also seeking other 4th/5th grade teachers within MVUSD in order to illicit support for each other during distance learning.

Student Zoom Meeting Access

Beginning Monday, October 5, 2020, students will only be able to join Zoom meetings by authenticating through the Clever app. If they try to use a Zoom link from any other source, it will not work. In other words, if students share Zoom credentials with one another, or an outsider tries to access a Zoom call, their efforts will be foiled without Clever authentication. The Clever authentication will also prevent students from changing their first and last name before entering a Zoom meeting. Beginning this Monday, October 5, teachers will only place their Zoom links on their Clever page. The Clever option is and has always been available. We thank you for your patience as our District continues to update our Distance Learning platforms for student safety and security. Should a new Zoom link be needed than the current one your child is using, the teacher will be notifying students/parents and sharing the new Zoom link.

Armada Admin Google Classroom

Wonderful news students and parents! Armada Administration now has a Google Classroom set up for all our Armada students! When your child logs on to the Google Classroom app from Clever, they should be seeing a “new” Google Classroom icon on their page aside from their teacher’s and our Counselor Classroom. The title is “2020-21 Armada Elementary School Announcements & Information.” To view the classroom, just click the icon and accept the classroom. The class code is jlp5ayt. Don’t worry, we will not be posting student work assignments in the classroom. It will be another form of communication with our Armada families to stay connected. Armada principal and assistant principals will be posting messages to our students weekly. For example, this message, our Armada Elementary Weekly Principal Message, will be posted along with school events and information.
