Reflection on Inequalities

How can I solve an inequality?
To solve an inequality you must isolate the variable. To isolate the variable you must do the inverse operation to get rid of the constant. For example, if it were division the you would multiply, and if it were addition, then it would be subtraction. You must do it to both sides because it must be equal. If you multiply or divide by a negative number then flip the sign.
How can I write an inequality?
You can learn how to write an inequality if you read a problem and find key words. By finding the key words, you can figure out the numbers in the inequalities. You can also figure out which way the inequality sign goes. Key words mean different thing. For example, less than or equal to can mean >. You write an inequality like this 2<x. The x represents the variable and the sign means that 2 is less than x.
How can I graph an inequality?
You can graph an inequality by using a number line. First, draw the number line and include the number in your inequality. Draw a circle on the number that is represented by the inequality. If the symbol has a line under it, then the circle will be colored in to show that the number in included and it could be less than or equal to, or greater than or equal to. If the symbol does not have a line under it, than do not color the circle in. That way it represents less than, or greater than. Then, draw a line in the direction according to whether the variable is greater or less than.
