Summer Activities Coordinator at EducationWorks

About the position: Student will design and implement activities and curricula with youth. Activities would include elements of character building, skill building, leadership, critical thinking, etc. Student would also be responsible for conducting outcome assessments to measure effectiveness of programming. Activities can be centered around student skill, interest, or area of study. For example; sports, arts, STEM, literacy, entrepreneurship, etc.

Research and Development Intern at EducationWorks

About the position: Student will design or identify current/tested measures to collect data about the work that we do with youth. This could include looking at the effectiveness of our literacy program to prevent 'summer slide', identifying impact of parent engagement in programming, or how the types of field trips effect student attendance. Recommended for majors in Math, Economics, Business.

Volunteer Program Assistant at EducationWorks

About the position: Student will support EducationWorks volunteer program by recruiting new volunteers through events, online postings, and partnerships with other organizations, schools, and colleges. Student will also be responsible for checking in with active volunteers weekly about their experiences and satisfaction with the program. Data will be collected about volunteer participation, retention and satisfaction.

Transportation Planning Intern at Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission

About the organization: The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission is dedicated to uniting the region's elected officials, planning professionals and the public with a common vision of making a great region even greater. Shaping the way we live, work and play, DVRPC builds consensus on improving transportation, promoting smart growth, protecting the environment and enhancing the economy.


About the position: Participate in traffic and transportation corridor and area studies, and various types of land use evaluations. Close supervision is provided by a supervisor who assigns tasks, gives preliminary instructions, reviews work in progress, and, upon completion, for quality and adherence to established standards. This work requires good communication skills, an affinity to quantitative methods, and a strong interest in transportation and land use.


Qualifications: Must be junior level or higher, preferred training in engineering/science-related fields, interest in transportation issues

Community Affairs Intern at Clarifi

About the organization: Clarifi is a nonprofit with a 50 year history of helping Delaware Valley residents improve financial capability. In 2015, the agency provided counseling and financial education to over 12,000 people. Clarifi is well-known both locally and nationally, with more than 150 partners including nonprofits, government agencies, foundations, and universities. Clarifi’s mission is to create hope by helping people identify and secure the most important assets in their lives.


About the position: The Community Affairs Department at Clarifi houses education, outreach, special programs, and advocacy efforts. The Community Affairs Intern is responsible for managing education data, client correspondence and materials necessary for each education program (FinanciallyHers, Financial Smarts, Seniors, etc.).

This position will assist the team in planning, managing and tracking the department’s activities and deliverables to ensure agency meets overall education reporting requirements and procedures. The Intern will be invited to participate in education events and outreach as fits his/her schedule.
