1950-1952

What kinds of music, movies, and fashions were popular at the time?

Movies: Singing in the Rain and From Here to Eternity

Music: Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Nat King Cole, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Page, Doris Day, and Perry Como

Fashion: Dresses, skirts, blouses, loafers with white socks

What were your favorite activities in middle school? What were your hobbies and interests?

Basketball, playing outside, playing in the woods, Hide and Seek, and Red Rover.

What job/interests/activities do you have now? Is there a connection between what you liked back then and what you enjoy today?

She is a retired librarian. When she was in middle school, she liked reading, but she did not love it. As my grandmother got older, she enjoyed reading more.

What was the best part about middle school?

Good teachers and walking to school with friends.

What was the worst?

The lunchroom.

How would you describe your middle school self?

What advice about growing up would you give to kids my age?

"The older you get, the better life gets."

Radios, telephones, black and white TV's

What do you think the main difference is between middle school now and middle school then?
