Pillar Pride
This six weeks our Science department teachers will be electing students who demonstrate Respect. These students treat others with respect by following the Golden Rule, using good manners, are considerate of the feelings of others, and deal peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements. Our Respect Pillar of Pride will be recognized and celebrated on Friday, November 30th in the library. If students are elected they will be notified one week prior to our celebration.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon week began after the kidnapping, and death of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. In honor of his death, his friends launched Camarena Clubs in Kiki's hometown in California. Hundreds of club members, family, and friends wore red ribbons and pledged to live a drug free life to honor the sacrifice made by Kiki. The Red Ribbon celebration brings millions together to raise awareness regarding drug prevention and use.
We kicked off Red Ribbon Week with morning announcements, dress up themes, and a door decorating contest.
Teen Drug Abuse
Many teens turn to alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs, or other substances as a means of coping with stress, peer pressure, and rebelling against authority.
