Last Day of School

Monday, May 24 - Last Day of School for Students - Dismissal will be at 12:45 p.m.

Helpful items to prepare for the coming days beyond the last day of school:

VVE Family:

We are exhausted from this year and prepared to begin the reflection process to kickoff the 2021-2022 school year. While this is not the way any of us thought a school year would go, the entire VVE community committed to making this school year the best possible experience for our students. Our teachers prepared tirelessly to deliver quality, high-level instruction in-person and virtually. Additionally, our students have shown strength and perseverance while knowing and showing The 4 Bee Rules.

Our mission is to inspire, empower, and embolden students. With the strange circumstances of this school year, we focused on maximizing learning in student-centered environments to address Social/Emotional and academic needs. We continue to be committed to developing our students with 21st century skills of critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Through supporting individual student’s interest, our goal remains to empower our students with pride and ownership of their school.

Teachers at VVE chose to be innovative over simple solutions to instruct, while abiding by the parameters of varying Health & Safety measures. VVE students experienced hands-on learning with integrated ties to our curriculum through a range of room transformations, virtual collaboration, project-based assessment, and community outreach.

VVE's rigorous academic expectations have been carefully guided by trauma informed practices this school year. Last year, we began a 2-week shutdown in March that lasted well longer than anticipated. Through that, we closely monitored our students well being upon returning to school in the Fall. Those efforts early in the year paved the way for purposeful instruction. In reviewing partially submitted benchmark results, our students demonstrated learning through everyone's tireless efforts. We have lots of information and strategies to support continued growth upon return in the Fall of 2021.

VVE is looking forward to a rejuvenating summer and continuing to observe the resiliency of both our students and staff. We will all continue to strive for excellence and work together as we navigate through our shifting learning environments.

Be the best you can be at VVE!
