Annual DCMS Dodgeball Tourney
It is a fun-filled night with lots of action. We will have music going between games and as usual, the concession stand will be open.
Entry deadline is Friday, April 5th so please ask your son and/or daughter if they plan on playing. Teams can have 7th & 8th-grade players, but no coed teams are allowed. All teams can have no more than six players but may list up to two coaches on their roster.
The kids usually get excited to plan their team uniforms, but please remember all team names need to be approved by either me or Ms. Seegers. Please do not order shirts unless the team name has been approved.
We typically need 20 teams to pull this off. In the past we have always exceeded our goal, but right now we only have five teams in. Students may pick up forms upstairs by the center staircase. Let us know if you have any questions.

SNOW MAKE UP DAYS
Due to our school closure on January 30, school will be in session on Friday, May 24, 2019.
MODEL ATTENDEES
Is your student a Model Attendee?
What is a Model Attendee?
- A student who attends at least 95% of the time (absent no more than 9 out of 180 days) OR
- A student who improved their attendance from the previous school year by at least 3%
How can parents help their student have better attendance?
When your child is sick
- Only let your child stay home if he/she is truly sick. Complaints of a headache or stomach ache might not always be a reason to stay home. Encourage your child to give it a try if they don't have a fever or other apparent symptoms.
- Please contact the school counselor for support if you believe your child's complaints might be a sign of atypical anxiety.
- The Sick Day Guidelines for Families may be helpful if you are not sure if you should keep your child at home due to illness.
Appointments and Vacations
- Make every effort to schedule doctor, dentist and other appointments outside of school hours.
- If your child must be out of school for an appointment, make every effort to have him or attend school for at least part of the school day.
- Plan vacations when school is not in session
Remember that you are setting your child up for attendance and perseverance habits that they will carry throughout their adult life.
LEGAL DOCUMENTATION
Reminder to all Parent(s) and Guardian(s): If you have legal documentation or court orders involving legal custody, physical custody, parental rights, restraining orders, guardianship, visitation, adoption, or any other legal settlements that impact your child or children, please provide a copy to school so we can be sure these orders are being carried out. Courts do not provide these documents to schools and we cannot carry out a legal decree without the official documentation to do so. Please note that any and all information provided is shared on a need to know basis and is housed in a secure location. Documents can be brought into the office or sent to school with your child in a sealed envelope addressed to our school counselor, Heather Luce or Laura Tice. Please contact Mrs. Luce or Mrs. Tice at hluce@danville.k12.in.us or ltice@danville.k12.in.us or at 317- 745-5491 with any questions.
