Act 288 - Use of cell phones in school zones

The use of a cell phone in school zones is now a primary offense. For the safety of our students - don't use your cell phone while driving in school zones!

Student drop-off & pick-up:

We have close to 1,000 students arriving and departing together. As you can imagine, it takes all of us to make this process safe and efficient. Here are some rules/helpful hints for you:

  • Walkers
  1. You will enter/exit on the 7th grade side (East) of our building where the bike racks are located.
  2. You should always cross the street after school with a crossing guard. No exceptions!
  3. Students walking to Tuscany must walk down Har-Ber Ave. Please do not cut across residents' back yards.
  • Car-riders
  1. Please pull ALL the way forward before students exit or enter the car. If you stop early, this slows the process considerably.
  2. Students should only exit or enter cars on the curb closest to the west side of the building.
  3. The visitor parking lot is only for parents and students that need to park and come in the building. Only students with casts/crutches/medical conditions are allowed to be dropped off in the front of the building.
  4. Parents - please do NOT park in the faculty parking lot to pick up students. This is dangerous. We have students riding buses and walkers on this side of the building. There should be no other traffic during dismissal or arrival times.
  • Bus-riders
  1. Students will go into the building on the east side of the building. Students should go directly to the cafeteria in the morning or to their designated seating area.
  2. Our first round of buses leaves campus at 3:20. School dismisses at 3:15. There is plenty of time for students to get to the bus if they stay focused. All other students go to the cafeteria to await arrival of their buses. We will help students the first week to learn the routines and allow for a little extra time at dismissal.
