A Message From Dr. Hawley
Dear families,
This week we had our first virtual assembly. We were excited to have another way to connect our in-person learners with our remote learners. This year we will be having virtual award assemblies as well, so we can still recognize students for their hard work. This week our third-grade students took the Language Arts Ohio State Test. The students did a great job!
Earlier this week we sent out a link to sign up or adjust your conference to Zoom. Due to the state-wide high COVID cases, many parents are now requesting Zoom conferences. For everyone's safety, this is a great option. Only parents/guardians will be permitted in the building for conferences. Please do not bring children with you.
Have a great weekend!
Barb Hawley

Remote Learner Helpful Hints
1. Absence: If you know your child will be absent from one of their online classes, please call the office at 330-673-8581(select the call off line option) or send an email to: Betsy.Dalziel@fieldlocalschools.org to report their absence. If your child is absent due to a doctor appointment, please email or fax the doctor's note to Mrs. Dalziel. Our fax number is 330-677-2519. This way the absence can be coded as an excused medical absence.
2. Online class links: When joining your online class, click on your link 1 to 2 minutes before the class starts (NO SOONER). At the start of class, teachers will see your child in their waiting room and have them join the class. If you are waiting for an extended period of time, try refreshing and clicking on the link again. Please do not wait to enter a classroom for an extended period of time. You can call the office at 330-673-8581 for assistance.
3. Technical Support: If you are having chromebook issues not related to your internet connection you can send an email to Remotelearning@fieldlocalschools.org and someone will respond to your request.

Hello Field Families!
Next month our character development lessons will focus on coping skills! I like to tell the students we all have our own coping skills toolbox, we just need to find the right tools that work for us. It is important for students to figure out what helps they feel better when they are feeling sad, worried or mad. Self regulation is an important skill that they will need to build on as they grow. Having a list of coping skills that they know can help them feel better or gain control of their emotions is a great start to continuing those self regulation skills. Talk to your students about what helps you feel better when you are upset and come up with a list together of coping skills to practice at home!

Specials
Hello Online Learners,
We wanted you to know that you should be completing an Art, Music, P.E., and Technology assignment every week. Ms. Giltz--who is here for Ms. Madden this year--is adding the first art assignment on 10/27. We are adding new assignments to our Google Classroom every week on Tuesday. Some weeks you might have an activity to complete and turn in and other weeks you might have an activity to complete but nothing to turn in. We understand that everyone is working hard this year so we are trying to keep our assignments under 15 minutes or a total of about 60 minutes a week for the four of us. If you need ungraded Library or Counselor activities click on their bitmoji and see the resources they have provided for your children. You should have received an invitation to join the Specialist Google Classroom at the beginning of the year.
