Ozark Schools closed through April 24
As we begin our alternative learning methods on Monday, April 6, here is what you can expect. Teachers will begin providing activities and assignments Monday morning. Your student’s teacher will inform them of the days of the week there will be new materials posted. The method of delivery may look different depending upon the student’s grade-level and building.
The first week of instruction allows all of us to adapt to our new way of learning, and we will make adjustments as we go. We want to ensure our families and students are not overwhelmed by this process. We are all in this together.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher, who will be available during virtual office hours from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Questions outside of these office hours will be answered the following business day.
Our primary focus is ensuring our students receive appropriate, accessible, accommodated educational programming through instructional activities, feedback and supports in this new learning method. This will look different than our traditional special education model.
Our special education teachers are in the process of reaching out to each family to create the best plan for your student.
This is new for all of us and we appreciate your flexibility as we strive to serve each student with a disability.
Please contact your student's special education teacher if you have questions. If your student has a 504, you can reach out to his or her counselor if you have any questions or concerns.
Feeding Program will be closed Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13
We will provide additional food on Thursday, April 9.
For School Devices and Programs
- Our technology help desk is open for school device and program issues from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. by calling 417-582-5911.
- If you have a Chromebook issue that needs repaired, our technology department is providing curbside service to either repair or exchange your device. Our drop-off location is at 1441 W Lloyd St. from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- We also have a drop-box available at OJH and South Elementary if you are unable to drop-off the device during our office hours.
Prom postponed - OHS families. After consulting with our planned venue, we have made the decision to postpone prom originally scheduled for May 2. We are continuing to plan for the event in early summer. As the current situation evolves, we will communicate this information with you.
- Graduation Update - We are working on contingency plans if JQH cancels our graduation ceremony on May 9. Options may include a virtual style ceremony on May 9 and an in-person ceremony later in the summer.

- A+ Update - Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development issued guidance about temporarily reducing or suspending certain A+ Scholarship eligibility requirements.

It is always important to follow appropriate “netiquette” expectations, but it is even more essential when we're only "together" when online. Students, families, and educators are encouraged to review our expectations, outlined in Ozark's Acceptable Use Policy. Treating others well is important, online and in the classroom, and good choices also involve being safe.
