Workshop Offerings (Virtual and In-Person!)

The Mid-West Regional Partnership Center (RPC) and the Early Childhood and School-Age FACE Centers are shifting the way in which we support Educational Organizations in our region during these unprecedented times. Below is an interactive list of virtual (via Zoom) and in-person workshops being offered. The links will direct you to our Frontline Education (MLP) page where you will be able to register for the trainings of your choice. As always, we are a CTLE approved vendor and all trainings offered are free of charge.

NYS Diploma and Credential Options for Students with Disabilities via Zoom

Friday, March 17th, 9-11pm

This is an online event.

The goals of this professional development are to ensure that participants understand the Multiple Pathways to Graduation as delineated in New York State laws and regulations. Safety Net options available to support graduation for students with disabilities will also be explored in addition to the requirements for the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential and the Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Commencement Credential. Discussion of the importance and impact of supporting the self-determination of students to aid in the identification of Pathway options and throughout the transition planning process will also occur. Zoom link will be sent out to registered participants 24 hours prior to the PD.

Overview of Specially Designed Instruction (Asynchronous with Zoom Follow-Up)

Friday, April 14th, 1-3pm

This is an online event.

Participants will develop introductory knowledge of specially designed instruction (SDI) and will be able to identify ethical & legal reasons for the use of SDI; define SDI & its purpose; understand the relationships between SDI & other instructional strategies; describe SDI & its core elements; differentiate between accommodations & modifications; and discuss appropriate SDI based upon student needs & characteristics. Please note: This training requires participants to independently view 4 brief video modules (no longer than 15 minutes in length for each) prior, and then attend a Zoom follow-up session on 4/14 to collaborate and ask questions about the content. Participants will receive the video modules approximately one week prior to the Zoom session, but must attend the Zoom session in order to receive CTLE credit for the training.

RPC/FACE Centers Technical Assistance Virtual Support

The Mid-West Regional Partnership Center (RPC) and Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Centers provide direct training and support to families, approved preschool and school-age programs, public schools and districts, and community partners.


Please contact these centers with questions or needs related to:

  • Promoting meaningful change within the educational system with regard to legislation and regulations to support students with disabilities
  • Building collaborative school/community relationships
  • Promoting family and community engagement within the educational system
  • Providing information and training in the areas of literacy, behavior, transition, specially designed instruction, and equity
  • Providing information and training about available service options for students from early childhood through high school.
