Everything you need to know about DeMello...

Hello DeMello Familes!

We had another fun week of teaching and learning here at DeMello! We'd like to thank the Dartmouth Fire Department for bringing their Fire Safety Program back to us in person for the first time since 2019! The students enjoyed the presentation, learned lots and left with some DFD swag! What's better than that?

A BIG THANKS to our fantastic PTO for launching a very successful and engaging PENNY WARS this week! The entire school got onboard! Students from all grade levels scrambled to the cafeteria each morning to use their best strategies to win their grade levels a super recess. A good time was had by all!

We are really looking forward to a spooky Monday! Read on for important information regarding HALLOWEEN!

Please see attachments below regarding our First Grade Literacy Night on 11/17 as well as the DHS production of Matilda!!

HALLOWEEN INFORMATION!

Although the weather forecast for Monday appears a bit iffy, we are crossing our fingers that any rain holds off so that we may have our annual Halloween parade! We will send out a text update by 11:00 on Monday morning to let everyone know whether or not we plan to go on with the parade. Here is what families need to know:

  • Please send your child to school with their costumes in a bag--staff will help them get ready in the afternoon!
  • No scary masks or weapons, please!
  • Family members who are coming to the parade should follow the signs to the "Parent Zone" at the entrance of the building. As we will be wrapping up recesses, please do not enter the DeMello backyard before 1:15.
  • Family members may line up along the fence in the Parent Zone and wait for the parade!
  • We expect to start the parade at 1:30 sharp to allow parents time to get to Cushman for their parade at 2:00.
  • Once students have paraded, they will enter the school from the main entrance and make their way to their classrooms to celebrate!
