The 3 types of Rocks

By: Alexis and carson

igneous intrusive rock is made by cooling and then solidifying either magma or lava. igneous rock can be made with or without the process of crystallization. It can be made under the earths crust called intrusive rock or on top, which is called extrusive rock.

igneous extrusive rock

Extrusive rock is characterized by fine-grained textures because they rapidly cool either at or near the earths crust. Therefore, there is not enough time for crystals to grow. Rock with this type of fine-grained texture is called aphasic.

Sedementary rock

    Conglomerate rock

sedimentary rock is made of large, greater than two mm in diameter clast size rocks. Clasts are are formed by multiple small rocks and rock material. Some examples of this type of large coasts include granules, pebbles, cobbles, and boulders.

    Sand stone

sand stone is a type of rock.

Sandstone is a clump of rocks made up of mainly sand-sized minerals or rock grains. Sandstone is like sand, the most common colors are tan, brown, yellow, red, grey, pink, white, and black.
