Executive Directors' Retreat May 24-25
To Apply and Participate
By February 10th, we require executive directors to apply via email to amy@communityfoundationlf.org [subject area: Executive Directors Retreat Application] with a brief request that includes (a) your personal bio, (b) your professional resume or a summary including how long you have served with your organization as ED and other roles in the nonprofit/for profit area, and, (c) a copy of your organization’s executive director’s position/job description. Please also include a one-page summary with these details (d) your organization’s annual budget (total income/expenses projected for your current fiscal year; no detail), number of staff, number of volunteers, size of your board, and your organization's mission statement.
Cost to attend is $185 and includes all meals listed and overnight accommodations. For those requesting or preferring to stay overnight offsite, the cost will remain the same. Applicants will be notified by February 15th with a nonrefundable payment due by February 28th or your space may be forfeited.

10:00 – 12:00 Sandi Marra, Marra Consulting Group TWO SEATS AT THE HEAD OF THE TABLE-BOARD CHAIRS AND EDs WORKING TOGETHER
Offering seasoned experience, Sandi has served both as a staff person reporting to a board and board chair for multiple nonprofit organizations. Sandi will take us through techniques and opportunities to strengthen our relationship and communications with our board chair.

12:30- 5:00 Julie Jakopic, iLeadStrategies.com, UNDERSTANDING YOUR LEADERSHIP PREFERENCES, THE PERSUASIAN MATRIX, AND BUILDING RESLILENCE
Lets take a fresh look at our own leadership preferences, the styles we gravitate toward, and ways we can leverage our work to build effective teams around us. We will shift into analysis of our personal work as advocates, relationship builders, and work on crafting our persuasion and communication skills,. The afternoon wraps up with some touchstone techniques to help us build and increase our own personal resilience.
5:45 Dinner at the Salamander (we’ll each have a budget limit; cocktails on your own tab)
8:00 Wine and a Fireside Chat, back at the B&B, let’s drink some wine and use a technique to help one or two of us with a sticky wicket issue in the cone of silence.
