Using in cunning mind, he always found himself a way out of trouble or work. Tom soon met Becky Thatcher and instantly fell in love with her. On an adventure with Huckleberry Finn, Toms best friend, they witnessed an unforgettable event. Soon after, Tom runs away with Huck and Joe Harper. When they became unhappy, they returned home, much to the surprise of the whole town. On another adventure, Tom and Huck discover a cave with treasure. After much effort, they acquire the treasure and return home as heroes.

I definitely recommend this book to read! It is very entertaining to read. Its a great story to pass by the time. There are many stage adaptations of this book. Once the book it read, it would be worth the time to go see an adaptation of the book.

Favorite Passage

"Saturday morning was come, and all the summer world was bright and fresh, and brimming with life. There was a song in every heart; and if the heart was young the music issued at the lips. There was a cheer in every face and a spring in every step. The locust-trees were in bloom and the fragrance of the blossoms filled the air." This is my favorite passage because the description is so vivid and creates a wonderful image in the readers mind. It gives a clear portrayal of the Saturday morning in a delightful way. Knowing the character, however, the reader knows that a nice, warm scene is only to end up in a clever plot by Thomas Sawyer.

"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" Play at TCT

The characters shown above are just a few of 30 young actors who participated in the play "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" at the Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy. The play was written by Ric Averill of Lawrence, Kansas. It was a 90-minute, two-act play. However, this play only goes through the first part of the book. It was an astonishing performance and very well put together! The set, sounds, and actors made this play very enjoyable and stayed mostly true to the book.
