This Weeks Agenda

Every Day Math/Envisions Unit 4 Multiplication

We have begun our multiplication unit. We will continue to investigate arrays and repeated addition. I will be using Everyday Math as well as Envisions Math to teach Multiplication. It is important that your child complete daily math homework assignments to reinforce skills we have begun in class.

This week we will learn and practice Multiplication facts 6's, 7's and 8's , and 4's. We will continue to spiral through previously learned facts. We learned how to login to www.Multiplcation.com in class Friday. username: firstnamelastinitial46342 password : lunch number. practicing facts with flash cards, online games or timed tests is a great way to learn facts. Mastered facts should be as fluent as recognizing your name.

Social Studies - Economics Unit

Economics- over the next 2 weeks we will be learning the basics of economics. We will be using our Communities text book as well as the Hershel Economics curriculum.

Spelling/Phonics: We will continue to identify more spelling words with several suffixes - ed, est, er, ly, chage y to i. Students will receive a pink spelling packet with 30 words to study for the test Friday. I will choose 18 words from the list for our test Friday morning. **spelling packet is homework - Due Friday 11/20/15

Writing/grammar: In writing we will continue our opinion writing unit - creating and advertising for our own business! I am very excited about this unit and I am sure the kids will love it too. There will be several take home activities that will need to be done and returned with this unit. Please encourage your child to keep their homework in their folder so that it does not get left at home.

Vocabulary: Building a large vocabulary is very important in becoming great readers. This week your child will have graphic organizers to complete with each of vocabulary words from the entire unit. Vocabulary for this unit will be done in class.
