Washington Tech Tidbits
Washington School - April 24, 2017 - Rachel Labuz
21st Century Student Learning Showcase
We're going to continue our new tradition of celebrating student learning and tech integration on Monday, May 22nd prior to the Board of Education meeting (6-7pm) at Emerson. This board meeting is one of many celebrations--ELF grants, Judith Snow awards, teacher tenure ceremony, and much more. Last year we had some great Washington examples of 2nd grade centers with OSMO and 4th grade coding projects.
Think back through your school year... what can you share to show great tech integration from your classroom?
Please let me know if you're interested in participating by this Friday, April 28th... I will be there and would be happy to hang out with students, but ideally, you would come to hang out, meet and greet visitors (parents, teachers, board members, administrators), and show the great work that's happening here at Washington!
Parent University - Putting Your Best Foot Forward
Geared toward families with students in grades 3-8, Putting Your Best Foot Forward: Creating a Positive Digital Footprint will help families talk about how our digital actions create a first -- and possibly lasting -- impression, and how we can foster a positive online culture for ourselves and those we interact with both near and far. A valuable resource for families, the 45-minute podcast is available whenever it's convenient for YOU to watch! I have also embedded it below. This podcast is part of our continuing Parent University series - check out our other offerings, too!
Kahoot!
Survey
As a District, we're earnestly trying to meet the needs of our teachers and staff for interactive boards, as many new technologies have been developed and changed our ecosystem. We are asking that you fill out this brief survey to indicate how you're using your interactive whiteboard, SMART Notebook, and other interactivity tools. Thanks!
Back Up Your Computer!
We ask that you please complete the backup by May 19!
Files and folders that exist on your desktop computer and MacBook (Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Music, etc.) must be backed up before handing in your old devices.
