Femineers
Dwyer is very excited to have partnered with Cal Poly Pomona to bring a wonderful new program to our campus. Femineers was created and funded by Cal Poly Pomona's College of Engineering in 2013 to inspire additional females to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in their education and career. The program provides K-12 students with project-based learning, female engineering student mentors, and opportunities to visit Cal Poly Pomona, all while building a sustainable program and community for current and future STEM leaders.
Curriculum for this year's program will be Creative Robotics, in which participants learn basic electronics in a fun and engaging way. Young ladies will work in teams to design robots out of everyday materials. The program will commence with a trip to the Annual Femineer Summit in spring to present student designs and learn from other Femineer programs.
Students will be given applications from their Science or Math teachers in the next few weeks. More details will also be forthcoming. We do anticipate holding the classes after school one day per week, starting in early November. We will also be offering more STEM opportunities for both male and female students throughout the year, so stay tuned!

Parent Teacher Conference Information
Parent teacher conferences will be held on October 24 through October 26. These conferences are meant for parents to discuss with teachers areas of need for their child. You do not need to meet with every teacher or any teacher at all if you do not have concerns. These are optional and as needed, with priority going to students with C grades or below.
This year we have decided to use an online calendar for sign-ups. Each teacher will have time slots available for you to sign up. Please visit the link below for more information. The instructions for how to sign up are there and all teacher links for signing up are now live. These links will be open through October 20. Any conferences requested after October 20 will be based upon open availability and will need to be scheduled by calling the office.
