AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS - REGISTRATION OPENING!
Wescott Clubs are starting for this school year! Please check out the current offerings below. Stay tuned to the Wescott Word as more of our clubs open for the school year. Refer to last week's Word for a listing of all clubs. The following sign ups will open up TOMORROW, Saturday, September 3rd at 8am. Each description outlines necessary information.
Team Games Club
Wescott is offering an after-school Team Games Club for 3rd- and 4th-grade students. The club will be held on Tuesday (3rd grade) from 3:10-4:10 pm and Thursday (4th grade) from 3:10-4:10 pm, beginning the week of September 12, running eight weeks through the week of October 31. Membership for each grade is limited to 16 students due to limited space and equipment.
***The 4th-grade club will not meet on Thursday, October 20 due to conferences and no school. We will make up that date on November 10.
Parents will be required to arrange transportation of their children from school grounds. Since crossing guards are not on duty, any student who walks home needs parental permission.
Ms. Rohn will contact you if your student is in the club. Contact Ms. Rohn with questions at nrohn@district30.org.
Writing Club
Ready, set, write! Are you an aspiring author? A dabbling poet? Well, 4th- and 5th-graders, this club is for you! Each week, we’ll spend time experimenting with new writing forms and genres. We'll use oral language, storytelling, art and games to help stir the creative juices and improve our craft. Together, we’ll stretch our limits in a low-pressure, high-fun environment. Sessions will include a balance of guided writing exercises and time to craft works of your own choice. For more information, please contact club sponsor Mrs. Lainie Levin at llevin@district30.org
FALL 2022 Kindness Crew Club Registration Form & Schedule
Calling 4th- and 5th-grade students! Join the Wescott Kindness Krew! In this latest after-school club, students will spread kindness around the school by helping teachers with various classroom projects and assisting the Helping Hands committee when needed. Krew members will also come up with their own ideas for spreading kindness around Wescott.
The club will meet on Monday from 3:10-4:10 p.m. beginning September 12 running eight weeks through November 14. (No meeting on September 26 or Halloween, October 31.)
Parents will be required to arrange transportation of their children from school grounds. Since crossing guards are not on duty, any student who walks home needs parental permission.
Click here to register. Please note, completing the form does not guarantee admission. Mrs. J will contact you if your student is in the club. Contact Mrs. Janavicius with questions at mjanavicius@district30.org.

Make Sure Your Health Forms are Up-To-Date
Kindergarteners and students new to Wescott are required to provide the school with an Illinois health exam form with an immunization record and a physical, which was completed within one year prior to the first day of school. Kindergarteners and new students will also need to hand in a completed eye exam and dental form. The forms may be found at District 30 Health Forms.
Second-graders will need to turn in a dental form this school year by May 2023. If your student will be keeping allergy or asthma medication in the health office, a current health care plan from your physician is required.
Before any medication can be dispensed, the school must receive written instructions and a signed permission form from the student’s physician and parent. All medications must be properly labeled and kept in the Health Office. Parental permission must also be obtained for non-prescription medication. Please contact the Health Office at 847-400-8760 or kwalsh@district30.org if you have questions.
