Digital Learning Day

What a great way to finish a week of school! Our 4th graders and 8th graders celebrated Digital Learning Day today by participating in multiple webinars where the 4th graders interviewed 8th grade classes about what life is like as "a middle schooler." Middle school can be quite overwhelming to a 4th grader. Our 8th graders did an outstanding job of explaining the "middle school experience" and gave some great sage advice. Click the link below to see an example of one of the conferences held in Canvas. Let me know if you would like to do this with one of your classes. I think everyone enjoyed this authentic audience experience.

Pi Day

Not only was it DLDay today, but many classrooms were celebrating Pi Day today. How did you celebrate? How many digits of Pi can you recite?

Canvas Survey

Thank you to everyone for sharing both their favorite features in Canvas, as well as features you would like to see developed in the near future. I am looking forward to meeting with the CEO and engineering team next week to discuss how Zionsville schools is using the Canvas LMS and the direction we would like to see it head in the future to assist us in educating and engaging all learners at ZCS. I will share the results of my trip after spring break.

Ironman Meets His Match

Check out the video below! Robert Downey Jr. (aka. Ironman) ad Albert Manero, a #CollectiveProject student who founded Limbitless, surprised a very special child with a new bionic 3D printed arm at no cost to the family. I have met some of the students at ZCS who have the same potential using the talents they are passionate about. Prepare to be moved!
