Announcement
Val will remain at Emery Hall till we find a replacement to take over the EC/EH secretarial duties.
Dress Code
KSD"s Dress Code can be found in the 2022-2023 KSD Handbook page 48 on our school website at www.ksdeaf.org.
Students are expected to wear appropriate clothing for an academic setting. Students who are dressed inappropriately will be asked to correct their clothing before attending class or school activities. School and dormitory administration reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of clothing.
Note: In Elementary School, flip flops are permitted with an exception of Physical Education class and any setting where sneaker/tennis shoes must be worn for safety reasons. Students wishing to wear flip flops need to bring a pair of sneakers/tennis shoes. They may be left in their lockers. Bedroom slippers are not permitted at any grade level.
1. Shirts must be buttoned from the third button down.
2. Undershirts are not to be worn as outer clothing. All undergarments must be covered at all times.
3. No spaghetti or thin strap tops, sleeveless jerseys/shirts, bare-midriff shirts permitted.
4. No see-through clothing permitted.
5. Pants must be worn no lower than the hip bone. No bicycle shorts permitted.
6. All clothing should be appropriate in length, fit, and modest. Clothing that is deemed suggestive and distracting to the learning environment is prohibited.
7. No hats, bandanas, or inappropriate head wear (e.g., sport head band) is to be worn in any building during the school day. No baseball or regular caps – students may obtain permission from the Principal for hat style permitted. At no time is headwear to be
worn in the cafeteria.
8. Students are not permitted to wear:
● Clothing, hats, jewelry, etc. with suggestive, violent, drug related, satanic or obscene pictures or words
● Chains or spikes
● Clothing with depictions of gangs, illegal substances, tobacco, or alcoholic beverages

Upcoming ECC Family Workshop
Our mission is to promote/support our athletic program. Since we are all here to support our students in any way possible to make their athletic /fellowship experience here at KSD a memorable one. We would like to help our athletic programs here at KSD (K-12) by encouraging school spirit, fellowship, citizenship, academic excellence, physical growth and most importantly encourage our students to develop a ‘lifespan’ (healthy lifestyle) involvement habit.
Who can Join?
The Booster Club is made up of parents, players, siblings, grandparents, teachers, and others throughout the community. All are welcome, no experience is necessary!
How is the Booster Club Funded?
The Booster Club is funded through donations from individuals and businesses, and through fundraising activities.
Next Event?
Our next event will be during the KSD homecoming and GPSD volleyball tournament on October 7th - 8th. If you are interested in helping out or learning more about our Booster Club, come out and attend our meeting on September 29th (3:30 to 4:30) in the Student Center or reach out to mwiesner@kssdb.org.

Checking In and Out
We will have contactless student drop off and pick up. If your child is arriving to school after the start of school day, please call the office at 913-324-5861. A staff member will walk out and help get your child into the building.
If you are checking your child out for the day or for an appointment, please contact the office via email or call at 913-324-5861. We will have a staff member walk your child out to your car. If you are not able to call from the parking lot, please feel free to use the foyer doorbell to the office and we will bring your child to your vehicle.
