Deer Creek Academy! Deer Creek's Newest Option for Virtual and Blended Learning Opportunities!
The Deer Creek Public School District is expanding their educational opportunities in order to accommodate the growing needs of our patrons. Deer Creek Academy is an innovative program structured to serve students who would benefit from a customized, virtual education solution.
This new school provides our students with the flexibility to complete all of their coursework outside the traditional brick and mortar schools or blend their learning experience by attending some classes at school and completing others online. In addition, Deer Creek Academy students will have the unique opportunity to participate in on-site extracurricular activities, including athletic teams and fine arts programs. To participate in OSSAA sanctioned extra-curricular activities, students must be enrolled in at least one traditional class in addition to the extra-curricular activity.
This program is designed to accommodate the growing needs of our students and offer a flexible education where families can create their own learning schedules with the support of certified teachers.
The free, online education opportunity aligns with Oklahoma Academic Standards and offers a self-paced education option for K-12 students. Highly qualified, certified teachers will provide online instruction and work closely with students and parents to customize lessons as needed. Teachers will monitor student progress weekly in person, and through virtual meetings, email or phone calls.
Deer Creek Public Schools is utilizing the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) Blended Learning Framework to develop our program. This framework is aimed at providing a successful, research-based model of blended and virtual education to public schools across Oklahoma. CCOSA's framework relies heavily on the National Education Policy Center's (NEPC) virtual school research, which offers guidelines and governance mechanisms to prioritize student performance, and ultimately, student success as demonstrated through academic performance measures.

The Deer Creek App will work conjointly with the SchoolMessenger App (registration only required one time) as a notification system. Once a parent has registered with the SchoolMessenger App, they will only need to use the Deer Creek App for all things Deer Creek!
