Youth Sports Update * Fall 2022
Registration underway for JPAL Volleyball Camp and Manny's JPAL Basketball League
Low-cost camps are offered in a variety of sports for students in the Phoenix-Talent School District. All camps are led by high school coaches and student-athletes.
Volleyball Camp will start on Wednesday, September 28. Additional sessions will be held Wednesday, October 5 and Sunday, October 9. All sessions will run from 6-7:15 pm at Phoenix High School. Students in grades 3-8 are eligible to participate.
Starting the week of September 21, Manny's Fall JPAL Basketball League will feature weekly practices at each elementary school in the district. Orchard Hill Elementary students will practice at their school from 2:30-4 pm on Mondays; Talent Elementary students will practice at their school from 2:30-4 pm on Tuesdays; Phoenix Elementary students will practice at their school from 1:30-3 pm on Wednesdays. Parents are responsible for transportation home after practices. Students in grades 3-5 are eligible to participate.
Students in grades 6-8 may also participate in Manny's Basketball and will practice at Talent Middle School.
All Manny's League games will be played on Saturdays at Talent Middle School.
Cost for any of the upcoming JPAL camps or Manny's Fall Basketball League is $25 per student per camp. Registration is now open. Students will also receive fliers at school about JPAL events.

Talent Middle School fall sports seasons underway
The fall season is underway and includes cross country, football and volleyball. Boys' basketball will be offered in November and December, girls' basketball and wrestling in January and February and track and field in the spring.
Students in grades 6-8 are eligible to participate in sports at TMS.
An outstanding roster of experienced coaches is working with our student-athletes at TMS. There is no charge to participate in sports at the school. Practices and the majority of contests take place on weekdays.

Homecoming Week October 10-15 at PHS
Among the highlights is the community parade through downtown Phoenix. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 12 beginning at 5:30 pm. All schools in the district are invited to be represented in the event. For more information contact breeze.chapman@phoenix.k12.or.us
He-Man Volleyball and Powder Puff Football are also scheduled on October 12. Both events will be held at the high school.
The annual Homecoming football game will take place on Friday, October 14 beginning at 6 pm on P-T Rising Field at Jack Woodward Stadium.
On Saturday, October 15 the first Phoenix-Talent Sports Hall of Fame induction since 2014 will take place. The event will get underway at 6 pm. A list of 2022 Hall of Fame inductees can be found at https://phoenixpirates.org/main/adnews/ID/55395117
