Message from the Principal
Dear Advantage Arts Family,
We experienced our first indoor recess of the school year. The weather is getting a bit colder and the roads are slippery. Please use caution when you are driving to school. We ask that you drive a bit slower in the parking lot to help avoid any problems. The students' safety is our number one priority.
I am proud of the hard work of our students in the production of "The Christmas Carol". They have all put in a lot of time and effort to create a fun and enjoyable show. A big "Thanks" to Ms. Thompson, Ms. Harper, and Ms. Thomas for their time to make the performance happen.
We are excited to give tours next week during our Open House on Wednesday. Please bring neighbors and friends to see our incredible school, wonderful teachers, and friendly staff. Remember, each family you bring in for a tour will be an entry into our giveaway for an iPad.
Also, thanks to Mrs. Redd, we were able to display a beautiful mural in our front lobby. The mural was started with Mrs. Lisa Evans (our previous director), and her friend came all the way from Las Vegas to complete it.
We have one more week until the winter break. Please be safe!
Mr. Kano

There has been a lot of coats and jackets accumulating in our lost and found. Please remember we will hold items for 4 weeks and on the 5th week we will donate left over items. All items put out during parent teacher conference have been donated. Please make sure to check as soon as items are lost, we keep the current weeks lost and found in the lunch room but if your items aren't found there, please check with the front office.
Center Stage
6th Grade Winter Cityscapes
In sixth grade we are learning about some of the elements and principles of art. We painted the backgrounds for our winter cityscapes that we will finish next week. We painted different values of colors for our buildings and cool-colored winter skies. Next week we will add the buildings to finish it off.
4th Grade Marble Ramps
In fourth grade we are learning about energy. We learned about potential and kinetic energy by making a ramp for a marble run. We tested out different materials to see how the marble would move with different amounts of friction.
Third Grade Elf Self-portraits
In third grade we used our imaginations to think what it would be like if we were an elf. We learned how to draw a portrait and turned ourselves into elves. We added hats, pointy ears, and holiday colors. We used oil pastels to color them in and watercolor to paint the backgrounds.
After School Clubs
ART CLUB WILL BE HELD THIS WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15th.
Violin Music Club is NOW FULL

On the day your student has club, larger instruments can be brought into the front office in the morning and must be picked up on the way to room 210.
Drama Club "A Christmas Carol For Kids"
Today the students were able to watch the Drama club perform "A Christmas Carol for kids"! It was so much fun watching the confidence and talent that our students have. You can truly see how much they love performing. We hope you have a chance to come and see it tonight at 7:00PM Doors open at 6:30PM!
The cost to watch the play will be free but drama club will be accepting donations to go towards drama equipment for Advantage Arts Academy!
