Message from Mrs. Deayon & Mrs. Sieminski
We are so impressed by all of the hard work that staff, students, and families are doing to continue learning during distance learning. We know that our parents are working harder than ever to monitor distance learning. Parents and guardians are assisting with lessons, while also balancing working from home and taking care of family needs. Thank you for helping us finish the year strong!
Also, thank you for all of the things you did to show your appreciation to the Southeast staff this week. We are so grateful to have such a supportive community of superstars.
Happy Mother's Day! We hope all of the mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, and female guardians get spoiled this weekend! You are appreciated beyond words.
All our best,
Terri Deayon & Sarah Sieminski
Supply Pick-Up & Drop-Off
Please follow these directions to make the exchange as smooth as possible:
- Bring any district property in a bag labeled by student (laptop, library books, etc.)
- Display a sign with the names of the students (and their teachers) who you represent clearly on your car
- Be prepared to accept bags with student belongings (supplies, pictures, yearbooks, etc.)
- Be prepared to stay in your car and use social distancing to keep our Southeast community safe
Although the time slots are set as an hour, please feel free to come anytime within that window. We are hopeful that not all 24 families will come at once each hour.
Beginning May 18th, teachers will begin going to Southeast to help prepare for this exchange. The days that teachers are scheduled to work in the building they will not be as accessible to facilitate distance learning. Your child's teacher might email you informing you that they are working on cleaning out their classroom and preparing student supplies for pick up.
What items need to be returned to school?
- Computer with charging cord
- Personal hotspots
- Stylus for computer use
- Library Books
- Southeast Lanyards and ID Badges
- Classroom Books and/or Book bags

Kindergarten Registration
We are trying to ROUND UP all of the 2020-2021 Kindergarten Superstars NOW! Due to the COVID-19 School Closure a Kindergarten Kickoff (used to be Roundup) will be in the evening on August 4th, 2020!
Right now we have just 31 kindergarten students enrolled at Southeast Elementary School for the 2020-2021 school year. This enrollment number greatly impacts our staffing plans as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, so it is critical to have families enroll their child right away for the 2020-2021 kindergarten class. If you have a child, or know a child in the area, who turns 5 years old on or before July 31, 2020 please access the information below to enroll.
If you have older children attending Southeast Elementary School during the 2019-2020 school year, then you just need to add your incoming kindergarten child to your annual Online Verification and Residency Information: Online Verification and Residency Link
If you will be NEW to Southeast Elementary School: WELCOME! This is the link you will use to enroll your incoming 2020-2021 Future Kindergarten Student: Enroll in Park Hill
Thank you! I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have as many of our 2020-2021 kindergarten students enrolled by the beginning of May. If you have any questions or need help regarding this process, please reach out to the Southeast front office!
4th Quarter Grades
As you might have seen in a message from the district, we will be flexible and give grace as we prepare students’ 4th quarter report cards.
While we will give you as much feedback as we can on how your child is doing on the learning standards, we will be reasonable with your child and with ourselves, knowing that this is a difficult time for everyone. We will use what evidence we can find to show how well your child has learned.
In the past, we used only these grades:
- Exceeded (E)
- Mastered (M)
- Partially understood (P)
- Needed support (N)
For this report card, we will add three more reporting options:
- Distance learning completion (DL) - The student completed the work at home during distance learning.
- Unknown completion (UC) - The student might have completed the work at home, but the teacher does not know for sure.
- Not applicable (NA) - The teacher did not give an assignment or look for evidence of learning in this area.
2019-2020 Yearbooks
Yearbooks will be available for pick-up when students pick-up their supplies. Our PTA ordered extra yearbooks, so please reach out if you would like more information about how you can pay for a yearbook even if you didn't order one previously.

Do You Know A Park Hill Star?
The Park Hill Star recognition program was started in 2015 to celebrate support staff and teachers whose work is especially noteworthy.
The following is an overview of the Park Hill Star Program:
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Southeast Communication
You will find several ways to stay up to date on school activities throughout the year on the Southeast website , Facebook, and newsletters from your child’s teacher. You will also occasionally get an automated email or voicemail message sent to you by the school with important information and reminders. We know two-way communication is best, so please feel free to call or email with any questions you may have regarding your child’s education.
