Principal's Message
Thank you to everyone that attended our Back to School BBQ and Back to School Night. We loved meeting new families and seeing familiar faces.
Our school year is off to a great start! Our students have been learning routines and expectations in the classroom and school community.
We had our Walk-a-thon Kick off assembly on Friday. Mr. Cutler did a great job getting our students motivated to raise money for our school.
Our new Media Center is almost finished! Our librarian and IT department are working hard to get all the pieces in place. We should be ready to open the computer lab later next week and will be looking for volunteers to help with the setup of the library side. It's beautiful!
Next week will be HOT! Please try to send your child with a water bottle that includes their name. We are making plans for indoor activities at lunchtime.
We have many exciting updates in this edition including outdoor education, afterschool program offerings in music and movement, the income verification survey, and attendance awareness.
Next Wednesday (9/7) is our District Kickoff Event for Outdoor Education at Sally Tomatoes. You don't want to miss it!
Remember there is NO SCHOOL on MONDAY (9/5). Enjoy the three-day weekend!
Sincerely,
Maya Nava, Principal

PTA Corner
Welcome back Bobcat Families!! We are so excited to get back to normal and have a regular school year again. We can’t wait for all the fun events that the PTA puts on to get rolling. Our first event, the welcome back BBQ was a great success, we are so glad you could come and meet those in our Evergreen Community all while enjoying family fun.
Family Fun Nights are a monthly event put on by the PTA that is meant to be a free activity that you can enjoy with your family and friends.
Our next family fun night is Outdoor Movie Night on September 30th, @7:00pm.
The PTA is able to afford these events and help pay for other school needs by doing only one fundraiser, the Walk-A-Thon which will be held on September 23rd.
We hope you will consider joining the PTA, there is no obligation to attend meetings or to participate in activities but it does give you a vote when those things that do matter to you come up, our first meeting will be September 15th @6:30pm. We can’t wait to meet all of you that are new to the Evergreen community and those families that joined us during Covid and didn’t get to see an average school year.
Sincerely,
Erin Ballard, President

Restorative Practices
We are excited to continue our work with Restorative Practices!
As we continue to refine our restorative approaches, you may hear your child talking about classroom circles and using affective language. We are hopeful that these Restorative Practices will continue to increase quality communication and a sense of belonging, as well as building relationships with others in the school community based on trust, respect, and authenticity. We plan to offer parent nights this year to provide more information about Restorative Practices, so stay tuned for those!
We will have a dedicated "Family Corner" section in the Evergreen Express. In this section, we will post a "Question/Topic of the Month" to inspire restorative conversations with your families. A great place to have restorative conversations is around the dinner table.
August Question of the Month: "What are the qualities that make you a good friend?"
Good luck!
Paid Ways to Help at Evergreen
We are still in need of 1-2 more people to help at lunchtime. We have a large campus and over 550 students. The more adult support we have at lunchtime the better equipped we are to support students with play/social skills and conflict resolution.
Days and Times: M, W, Th, F 11:30-1:30.
Pay: 15$ per hour
To apply, please call 707-588-5715 or email maya_russellnava@crpusd.org and let us know your availability.
Crossing Guards:
We are in need of crossing guards to help with the three crosswalks near campus. Hours are 8:00-8:20 and 2:55-3:15. Crossing guards are crucial to the safety of our students walking and rolling to school. To apply, please call 707-588-5715 or email maya_russellnava@crpusd.org
If you have any questions about these positions please email maya_russellnava@crpusd.org or call 707-588-5715.
