Chalk, Walk, & Roll Contest
The Chalk, Walk & Roll contest by the Orange County Transportation Authority calls for local students to use chalk to create an art piece on a school blacktop or sidewalk. This contest was held as part of the development of OC Active - Orange County's Bike + Pedestrian Plan, the first comprehensive countywide effort to identify transportation needs and opportunities for walking and bicycling. The collaborative effort will incorporate detailed work already conducted by local cities and identify pedestrian and bicycle improvement areas throughout Orange County. Schools will then promote voting by having parents and students “like” their photo on www.facebook.com/OCActive. The photos with the most “likes” will win. There is one prize per school category – elementary, middle and high school.
