"As leaders we must provide a good example of what it takes to balance mental health stressors each day in a positive way. Children mirror the examples of what they see from the adults in their lives. Youth grow and make positive change, when we take a holistic approach to making changes in their environment, " says Gloria Wiggins, Chairman/President of Silver Lining Dealing with Mental Health Inc. (SLDMH).
The mission of Silver Lining Dealing with Mental Health (SLDMH) is to create a holistic program that includes a conducive modern home setting for at-risk youth and their families living in the City of Pensacola, Escambia, and Santa Rosa FL areas. Through the successful implementation of this program, the goal is to provide these youths with the life skills, educational achievement, social networks and emotional support they need in order to become productive citizens.

Parents Role in Children Lives
Parents are the ultimate role models for children. Every word, movement and action has an effect. No other person or outside force has a greater influence on a child than the parent.

Beau Williford - Giving Youth Amateur Opportunities
Ragin’ Cajun Amateur Boxing Club still keeps the gym hopping for young fighters of all ages and weight classes prepare for bouts. Many are novices, relative newcomers to the sport, but some club members have gained their share of notoriety. Williford’s eyes light up the most when his adolescent fighters climb into the ring.
Barry Robertson - Neutra Corners Youth program Director (SLDMH)
Young Men are driven by need, it's for family affection or it's a lonely feeling of emptiness that craves some sought of achievement for themselves. Juvenile problems are up and we as men need to step up and help that youth with a purpose succeed with the dream they see as younger males.
Many say Problems are in a one parent home, I fail to believe this, because I came from a one parent home but had my aunts and Uncle to help out. Our grandparent, extended family and community were another source of comfort for us. We had a "big Mama", but our kids are too easily influencing by a "name". Nike, Jordan’s either have our youth at bay.
Boxing is an ART, you develop many things about yourself as independent, because every move is on you, skipping or jumping rope is just that, but here you find your tolerance or speed and the will of you handles everything after that. Spurring is falling through a person precision, timing is everything, too quick, you may suffer dyer defeat, step back, scope it out, focus and don't take chances, you take care to carefully planned everything out.
Wining is not winning; you suck it up and re-group, re-think, and focus. When, there is no limit you are trained to be an individual, it will take you further than you can imagine, Habits, is what you pick up, dreams are what can be, if you are willing to work for yourself and make a commitment for that gleaming star of excellence.
Life is a mystery and as it unfolds the level of the playing field, we may never be given a chance to shine, we defeat those odds by taking tiny steps to secure our foundation, then take the next phase of life living to truly reveal our strengths.
"If I help ten youths, learn the art of self-love, I've done plenty. We don't find love too often, it is not spoken, we just carry the notion, and know we are loved" says Barry Robertson, Neutra Corners/Youth Director - SLDMH Inc.
