Volunteer Vaccination or Negative COVID test protocol
A recent State Public Health Officer Order, applying directly to workers in a K-12 school setting takes effect on October 15th, 2021. This order mandates that all “workers” operating in a school setting must be vaccinated or provide weekly proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
Under this health order the term “worker” applies to both paid and unpaid adults who are operating on campus in a support capacity. This order applies to all parent volunteers who serve on campus during parent-led activities, and those who support classrooms. Individuals for whom this applies will need to provide proof of vaccination OR consent to providing weekly proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
Please click on the link below this for more information, or to verify your vaccination or negative test results.

After School Enrichment
Hemlock/ACE is working with outside providers to offer after school enrichment programs for our students. This exciting opportunity enables families to enroll their students in activities - without leaving the school campus. More information about registration, including days and times, will be coming in the next few weeks. There is no cost to families for these opportunities.
The enrichment is broken up into two programs
Beyond the Bell - a 45 minute after school program for students who are not enrolled in the ASES program. The options available may be limited to grade level and seats are limited. Providers will be establishing waitlists if enrollment is full.
ASES - Students enrolled in the ASES program will be receiving the same enrichment activities in ASES. There is no need to register

Parent Portal
It is important that the parent(s) of each student create and update their Parent Portal information as this serves as the "emergency card" for VUSD students. The parent portal offers a secure and convenient way to access and update your child’s information online.
The parent portal allows parents to:
- View your student's teacher for the school year
- View and update their child’s emergency contact information
- Update student medical information
- View standardized test scores and elementary report cards
- View attendance information in real time
- View the VUSD Annual Parent Notification
- Complete the annual release acknowledgement and permission requirements
To set up your portal, click here with the following information (your email will include your unique log-in needs):
- A valid email address
- Your student's ID number
- Your primary telephone number registered with the school
