Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- December 11, 2020

Principal's Message

Hello Seco Families,

The last day of the 1st semester is Thursday, December 17. This is also the end of the official second quarter grading period. Please be sure to check Infinite Campus if you have questions about your child's grades and encourage them to keep working hard as we finish the last week of the semester!

Because there is no school next Friday, the schedule for the week is:

Monday, Dec. 14 and Wednesday, Dec 16: Periods 1, 2, 3

Tuesday, Dec. 15 and Thursday, Dec. 17: Periods 4, 5, 6

Note that Wednesday, December 16, will not follow the typical six period schedule.

Novel drop off will be Monday Dec 14, through Wednesday Dec 16, from 7:30 to 3:00 (expanded schedule) in the front parking lot. See below for more details.

We know this has been a long semester and a challenging one for many of us. Thank you for hanging in there and for all of your support. We have almost made it to winter break! Have a great weekend.

Novel Return (Drive Thru Drop off)

As we close out the first semester, it is time to collect students' novels so we can redistribute them to different classes in January. Please note that we are only collecting novels at this time and not student textbooks, which they will still need in second semester. The dropoff will occur in a drive through fashion in the front parking lot. You will not need to exit your vehicle.

We have expanded the schedule for novel drop off! You can now drop them off in front of school any time between the hours of 7:30 to 3:00 this coming Monday through Wednesday, December 14-16. Thank you for your participation in this to help ensure we have enough materials to redistribute for classes in the spring.

We will have a separate distribution for spring semester materials (see below).

Schedule and Materials Distribution for Spring

We will have a drive-through distribution for second semester materials on January 6 and January 7 (the week before we return to instruction on January 11). This distribution will include students' spring schedules, second semester novels, Math packets, and supplies for specific electives.

You will drive through campus, to the back of the library, similar to the fall distribution. You will not need to exit your vehicle so there is no need to submit a symptom check. At the same time, if you are not well, we ask that you stay home. Here is the schedule:

7th Grade Wed. Jan. 6 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (schedule to come with alpha breakdown)

8th Grade Thurs. Jan. 7 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (schedule to come with alpha breakdown)

We will send out reminders and more specific details as we get closer. Please save the dates!
