If I Knew Then -Amy Fisher

Quotes!

"I was thinking to myself, These people love me. How pathetic. I had just shot somebody"

-Amy acts like she has no remorse by saying this..

"There isn't a day that goes by that i don't think about what i did."

-Well I would hope so! I don't think she served enough time in prison, 7 years isn't enough time to think about what she's done. Of course she's still thinking about her everyday!

"I didn't wake up one day and say, "I wanna shoot somebody today."

-I think this is funny, like duh??? But she's still psycho.

"How did it happen that I suddenly went from being a troublemaking liar to becoming credible and invisible?"

-It seems as if she didn't want them to believe her.. doesn't make sense

"They kept saying that they hated me just because of who I was."

-This cant be easy, its sad how people are treated in prison

"All you had to sleep on was a foam mattress, which was just like a piece of padding."

-This sucks, prison must be horrible

"I couldn't tell them about Joey because I loved him"

-HA! How on earth could she still love him? She's crazy

"I just told them what they wanted, and I figured that I was going to go home"

-I don't know why she thought she wasn't going to be thrown in jail after confessing

"He had assured me that I couldn't get in trouble because of m age, so at this point I was thinking the worst trouble I could get in was that they were going to tell my parents"

-She was so naive...

"So they came to the jail, and my mother was crying hysterically, and my father was trying not to scream at me and strangle me."

-Her parents might have been so disappointed, it couldn't have been easy

"Dubbed the Long Island Lolita"

-How embarrasing.. she got her own nickname

"...I had just shot somebody"

-Its crazy to see how open she is about shooting Joey's wife

"As if seven years of Prison wasn't enough"

-I couldn't imagine 7 years in prison

"I've never loved any one so much"

-This must be true love, loving someone this much that they will go and take these measures

"Such shame in my parents' eyes"

-I could never imagine what it would feel like to put my parents through that

"I wasn't thinking right"

-DUH

"I had to put my life together piece, by piece"

-Even after she tried getting her life together, her life will never be normal again

"As a kid, you would never expect that you'd end up in prison. I was only 16"

-That's younger than me! That is so crazy

"I used to go with my father to Joey's shop to get his car worked on"

-How on earth did she manage to fall this crazy in love with someone when she met him through her father?!

"I truly was sorry"

-Mary Jo was shot.. she better feel sorry

"It's like there was something inside of me that just exploded."

-She lost it, how could anyone in their right mind just shoot somebody

Thematically Speaking

This book didn't have a theme exactly since it was an autobiography, but If it were to have a theme it would definitely be to not let anyone drive you crazy -- literally. The whole time she describes the shooting I got the chills. Its so scary to read about what drove her to take that action. When she describes her time in jail, I would get a dark creepy feel, almost pitty in some parts.

"I was thinking to myself, These people love me. How pathetic. I had just shot somebody"

"There isn't a day that goes by that i don't think about what i did."

"I didn't wake up one day and say, "I wanna shoot somebody today."

Best Seller... For Sure!

If you like dark creepy books/novels, you will without a doubt love this autobiography of Amy Fisher and how she went crazy (in love) and would stop at nothing to be with the love of her life... Even if it means taking out her lovers WIFE.
