1.14.22 308 PARENT UPDATE

1/17 MLK DAY-NO SCHOOL
1/19: PTA General Meeting in the gym

Our Raptor Parent Check-In System is updating in January-Important Information

Parents,

Beginning after Winter Break, we will no longer have Parent/Emergency Contact Driver's License information stored in our Raptor system in the office. Please remember to bring your id when signing out a student, or checking in for a meeting. Our system update will not save any information already in the system. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

IMPORTANT-Reminder to Pre-K-4th Grade Parents to complete the device form in Tyler

ALL parents, K-4 PLEASE LOGIN TO TYLER TO COMPLETE THIS FORM!

As sent out by Communications Director, Theresa Komitas on December 9th:

We hope this email finds you well! The Technology department is needing some information from all PreK-4th families. In the event your student is asked to participate in temporary distance learning, we have put together a form that asks what resources would be needed for them to be successful while not in the building. The document attached shows the steps required to complete the form in the TylerSIS portal.

Reminder: If your child will be changing how they get home in the afternoon, please fill out the above form and bring it to the office. For a one-day change from bus to parent pick-up for example, please email both Zenia and Beatriz at zcisneros@sd308.org, bdillman@sd308.org. A verbal request over the phone is not sufficient, as student safety is our number one priority!

Welcome to our new Social Worker and School Nurse!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is coming in one month! Students will be able to give Valentine cards to their classmates if they would like. As you are shopping for or creating Valentines for your children to share with their classmates on February 14th, please select Valentine cards only as opposed to Valentines with candy/food items. Also, please make sure that your child(ren) has a Valentine to give to each child in the classroom if they choose to give them to their classmates.

Additionally, as we have done in lieu of classroom parties for Halloween and before Winter Break, students will do academic-related activities in their classrooms related to Valentine's Day.

Changes in Lunch Options

Due to staffing shortages, Aramark has changed the lunch menu options to to different cold options, as opposed to one hot and one cold option. January's Lunch and Breakfast Menus are below.
