Senior Spotlight- Brennan Mahoney
The first student spotlight of the 2020-2021 school year is with senior Brennan Mahoney.
How did you spend your summer vacation?
I spent my summer vacation staying active through sports such as Football, Basketball and Soccer. I also spent a lot of quality time with my family! With the remaining time I had, I worked at the Community Center and co-founded a landscaping company, CB Lawn Company.
How are you dealing with the extra stressors of remote learning?
As if Senior year was not stressful enough, having to do remote learning due to a Pandemic does not help the cause. However, the main way I am dealing with the added stress is through sports. Being able to step away from the computer after a long day and play a sport that I love makes everything bearable. On top of that, it gives me the social interaction that us High school students desperately need!
What are you most excited about upon our return to school?
Upon my return to school I am most excited for seeing all of my friends and teachers. If this virus has taught me anything, it is that I took for granted the natural daily interaction among my peers in school.
What is your fondest memory of NHS?
My fondest memory of NHS is winning the Central Mass Championship in Football last year! It was such a great moment with my teammates and friends who came for support.
Besides classes, what else are you involved with at NHS?
I am involved in Football, Basketball, Track, Soccer, National Honor Society, Student Council, and DECA.
What would be one thing you would like to see happen at NHS that isn’t currently happening?
I would love to see NHS update their lifting room. It is a great space but just needs some new equipment and for the students to have frequent access to it. Overall I think it would bring the sports teams close together through them working out as a whole team.
What are your plans for after high school?
My plans after high school are to either go to college for 5 years in order to get my Masters in Engineering or take a 6 year program to get a dual degree with Engineering and Business.
