Ferris Junior High Celebrations and Information

Ferris Jr. High does not have School Friday December 6th

UTA College Visit Monday Dec. 2nd

Students, if you turned in your form to Mr. Lowery please make sure you have filled out this google form. https://forms.gle/4CC2yjrJnYhaNxD78

I will use this information to create the remind group for communication regarding the trip. Remember you will need money for dinner or to bring a sack lunch. We will leave at 4 PM after school. You are welcome to change into jeans and a different shirt after the 8th-period bell before getting on the bus. Remember the way you dress for college visits is a reflection on you, your family, and the school, let's make a great first impression. We will meet in the cafeteria immediately after class to take roll and get going by 4 PM. You will be able to leave your bags in the Cafe and grab them when we return from the trip before being picked up. You will not be allowed to go without a signed form returned to Mr. Lowery.

Earbuds

Parents,

As you may have heard, we are utilizing technology through our Chromebooks a lot in class. As Christmas approaches, a great gift for your kid would be earbuds. They will need them in most classes. We provide headphones in class as needed, but some kids like to use their own.

Semester Exam reminder - How to be exempt from them...

Students can be exempt from semester exams for good grades and attendance.

0-2 absences with 80% average and above

3-5 absences with 85% and above

More than 1 ISS placement and any AEP placement will

not be exempt.

Only 7th and 8th graders have final exams.

6th grade will MAP test for Reading and Math these dates.

Grades will be checked for exemption based on grades on Friday, Dec. 13th grade check. Please make sure your student is taking care of their missing assignments and at school daily. Your student can be exempt from one class and not the other. If they have zero absences with a 79 in Math and an 85 in science, they can be exempt from science, but still, have to take their math exam.

Final exams will be cumulative.

For students who are exempt, you are still required to come to school, but we have fun activities planned for you with an option to study if you need to for other exams.
