During 2 days of the workshop Kate will be showing how to achieve perfect thin and rounded felt lace work. We will be making some samples of lace work, progressing to recreate felt cuffs, and silk and lace scarf. At the end of the first day we will be laying out the lace vest with sleeves. Kate will be using sanding machines as well as tumble dryer to present the most efficient techniques of felt-making. The items will be made in white wool and silk fabric and then they will be subsequently dyed using a range of wool and silk dyes. Kate says...

I am a self taught felt maker who mostly lives off by making items for sale. I only teach at Dorie van Dijk's Atelier Fiberfusing, as I tend to limit the amount of people who know how to make felt my way :). At the same time once you meet me you will feel I am very generous with my knowledge!

My methods are simplified to the core, I would not make anything that is too time consuming for a simple reason – It would not sell at a good price! I only have been taught by a few feltmakers, but my methods are completely different! You will be surprised by the results.
