Physical Description
At 1/2 inch long, this small beetle has a metalic green color covering it´s entire surface area (except for it´s eyes), and has a metalic red color covering the top part of it´s abdomen. From A side view, it resembles a tiny grasshopper.
Where it Came From
It originated from Eastern Russia, Northern China, Japan, and Korea.
How it Got Here
It arrived accidentally in cargo imported from Asia.
Where it´s Found
It´s mostly found in the north-eastern region of the United States.
Crimes
Emerald Ash Borer´s kill Ash trees.
Punishment/Sentence
Research is being done to find ways to detect new infestations and control the adults and larvae. There are also quarantines to stop transportation of Ash trees from starting new infestations.
