Jag News
Weekly Updates for Jan 25 - 29
Message from the Principal
Good afternoon Jags!
As we start week 4 of the 2nd semester, the first Progress Report will be available in the Family/Student Access portal on Wednesday. Please
Normally we would be having our Elective Course Fair for the 2021-22 school year tonight. Due to circumstances with COVID, we have put together a virtual Elective Course Fair for all students and parents to watch. We invite you to Johnson’s Virtual Course Fair for the 2021-22 school year through this link! This is a helpful resource for students and parents to explore all the awesome elective and extracurricular options at Johnson and have an opportunity to submit questions to the various program leaders. Course selection for the 2021-2022 school year begins January 25. Counselors at Johnson, Tex Hill, and Tejeda will be sharing additional information and timelines with parents and guardians regarding course selection. The Virtual Course Fair and Course Selection information is also available on the Johnson website at https://www.neisd.net/johnson.
Reminder that the next time to move from virtual instruction and return to in-person instruction is to notify your counselor by next week, February 3rd. The students would be able to return to in-person instruction on February 8th.
Sincerely,
Gary Comalander - Principal

January Teachers of the Month
Congrats to the CTJ January Teachers of the Month, Mrs. Ruth Kimmell and Mr. LaRhon Fields! Mrs. Kimmell is in our Social Studies dept and teaches World Geography. She assists with so many things outside of her regular duties, and we can’t thank her enough! She teaches a homebound student, helps run Saturday School here on campus to help students regain credit, and she also works with students on Achieve for all students attempting to receive initial credit for courses to meet graduation requirements! Mr. Fields, a member of the Career Tech dept, has been a great help in Career Tech working hard on developing all the marketing materials and class layouts for the Johnson Business Academy. He strives to make connections with his students on a daily basis. ! Thank you both!
