The Holy Book

The Holy Book called the Qur'an or Koran is the holy book that Islams follow or believe in. The most basic acts of worship for Muslims are called the Five Pillars of Islam. The Qur’an provides general commands to perform these five duties. The Five Pillars of Islam are: declaration of faith, prayer, charity, fasting, and making a pilgrimage to Makkah.

Making a pilgrimage to the city of Mecca is part of the Five Pillars of Islam. Muslims try to make a pilgrimage to there atleast once in a lifetime. It is a very important place because that is where the religion of Islam was created.

Traveling to Hajj is a huge Islam tradition, it is the act of traveling there and should try to travel to Hajj atleast once in a lifetime if you can afford it. Places of Islam worship are at Mosques where they do prayers but prayers can be done anywhere. The holy book, the Qur'an tells about general commands to do and the Sunnah is how to perform the commands.
