Middle School Update
December 15, 2022
Message from the Head of Middle School
The holidays are right around the corner. We have had so much to reflect upon since the beginning of school three months ago. Rigorous academics, Outdoor Education, two seasons of Athletics, concerts, a co-ed movie night, the experiential Founder’s day activities, Veritas slips, Student of the Month, Holiday Baskets, the exciting announcement of a new Grade 12 (Pre-U) program, and on and on! In the midst of all of this, Grade 7 students have learned to adjust to secondary schooling and to the standards of Selwyn House while Grade 8s are consolidating the gains of last year and continue their preparation for the next phase of their education in Senior School.
We have focused on identifying the skills required to be True to Yourself and True to Others. We have done our best to instill in the boys pride in their school by establishing the importance of wearing their uniform well, and more importantly, living up to the expectations of Veritas. Obviously, with boys of this age there needs to be reminders, but on the whole we are moving forward together in harmony to ensure an amazing and engaging learning environment. So thank you to all the students, to the parents and to the teachers for making this such a wonderful place. We wish everyone a fantastic, well deserved holiday break. See you next year!
