Global Day of Play

Leader in Me Days

On the last Friday of each month KNE will implement a Leader in Me day. This is something KNE did in the past, but cancelled until most recently. Our teachers have reorganized these days to align with our current COVID protocol to allow us to ensure student and staff safety. This means our activities take place in the individual classrooms and our students do not mix with other grade levels. On these days our students participate in interest groups. Our interest groups allow our teachers to give students an hour to learn about a topic of interest. For example, some of our students can attend a cooking interest group or a coding interest group, or even a yoga group. We also have a virtual assembly to recognize individuals for achievements in school. You can view our school website and facebook page to view photos of our LIM days.

Nurse Crystal's Notes

February is dental hygiene month. Nurse Crystal will be doing 30 minute lessons in the K-2 classrooms to teach our students the proper way to brush and floss teeth. Nurse Crystal would also like to remind everyone about washing hands properly this time of year to avoid the spreading of flu and cold viruses.

Valentine's Day Parties

Valentine's Day parties will take place on Thursday, February 11th. Students are allowed to bring in Valentines to share with their class. Please look for information from your classroom teacher about this.

Fall parent Conferences

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 24th. This is a time to discuss academic or behavior concerns. Spring conferences are NOT mandatory for all students. However, if you have a concern please contact your child's teacher to schedule a time. Teachers will reach out to parents they would like to meet with.
