Saint Lawrence Every Friday Note
December 16, 2022
Merry Christmas!
***1 HOUR LATE START MONDAY DECEMBER 19- DOORS OPEN AT 8:25***
Tuesday, the students and staff are invited to dress in red and green or any Christmas outfit.
What a great week at Saint Lawrence! Our students and teachers worked very hard to prepare for the Christmas Concert and Christmas Market and it showed. This was a true testament to the complete education that we offer at Saint Lawrence Catholic School. Despite some of our staff shortages, particularly in art and music, we wanted to showcase that it is still a part of what we do and believe in. The crafts at the market were spectacular and with your help, we received over $860 in free will donations to pay for new windows and air conditioning in the gym. It is important that the students and staff feel invested in this project and they really produced. We will have other opportunities throughout the year for them to play a part in this goal.
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, I hope that everyone finds the peace and comfort that the true meaning of Christmas provides. In my introduction to the concert, I borrowed a quote from Pope Francis that says that among all of the many gifts and blessings the birth of Jesus has provided us, perhaps the most comforting is that the people of Earth will never have to live in a world without Jesus ever again. Merry Christmas to you and your families and all of the Saint Lawrence Catholic community and a prosperous new year.
This is the last Every Friday Note before Christmas. We have school on Monday and Tuesday and then we go on break until Tuesday, January 3rd.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration
Happenings This Past Week
Middle School Dance
The dress code is moderately informal. This means that students can wear jeans, sweaters, khaki pants, blouses, etc. However, we do ask that no one wears basketball shorts, sweatpants, or hoodies. This is meant to be more of a special event and we would like it to appear that way.
With that being said, we also ask that no one goes beyond the dress code. Students should not come to the dance wearing semi-formal or formal attire. Girls are welcome to wear dresses, as long as they are casual and not over the top. We ask that shoulders are covered and everything above the knee is covered. Boys are welcome to wear khakis or dark jeans, but dress pants and sport coats do not need to be worn. We want this to be a fun experience, but we also want to be school appropriate.
Please feel free to email Ms. Kacer directly (rkacer@saintlawrence.net) if you have any questions.

Eucharistic Revival
One of the great things happening at Saint Lawrence Catholic School is our participation in the National Eucharistic Revival. This year, we have had a few holy hours of adoration as a school in which we spend time with the presence of Jesus. Recently, the US bishops discerned that it was our Mother Mary, under the title Our Lady of Guadalupe, who would be the patroness of the National Eucharistic Revival. As we get ready to celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe this weekend and Monday, the timing could not have been better.
In addition, Blessed Carlo Acutis is the patron of the Year of Parish Revival! Blessed Carlo Acutis is a millennial who is on his path to sainthood and is already considered to be the "Patron Saint of the Internet". We studied him in one of our morning meetings as a saint of the day. This is an exciting time for the church.
