SESLAR TO SERVE AS ROTARY PRESIDENT
Benton-Carroll-Salem School District Director of Technology Mr. Devin Seslar was recently installed as the President of Oak Harbor Rotary Club at a banquet held at the Catawba Island Club. The objectives of Rotary include service to others and the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship united in the ideal of service.
Mr. Seslar began his career with Benton-Carroll-Salem School District in September 2014. He is a graduate of Edgerton High School and ITT Technical Institute in Fort Wayne. Mr. Seslar is also a volunteer with Mid-County EMS.
Happy Retirement!
Dr. Parmigian then gave special recognition to Mrs. Carol Kardos who retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a Classroom Assistant for Benton-Carroll-Salem School District during the June 30th Board Meeting. Dr. Parmigian described Mrs. Kardos as selfless, passionate, dedicated, and student centered. Parmigian praised the work of Kardos as having a major role in the success that students have achieved over the past several years at R.C. Waters Elementary. Mrs. Kardos was presented with a rose bush to plant in her garden earlier this spring.
B-C-S Transportation Form
DUE ASAP!
June 25, 2020
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
Please complete the Student Transportation Request Form for the 2020—21 school year. Assume that we will be in regular session, 5 days per week, as we were at the beginning of last school year for purposes of completing this form. Each family will need to fill out one form.
You may select one morning bus pick-up location for your child, and one afternoon bus drop-off location for your child for the entire school year. The morning and afternoon addresses may be different. If the morning or afternoon location is different from your home location, it must be along an existing bus route and the bus must have space available. We no longer do Alternate Site forms. Please fill out the form even if one or more of your children do not need bus transportation. This is the same transportation policy as we had last year.
You can complete this form by clicking the link below. DUE ASAP.

Mental Health and Well Being
These are challenging times for adults, and more so for young people. If you think your child can benefit from talking to a counselor, please do not hesitate to call your child's school on March 30 or after.
I also want to remind you of the Crisis Text Line:
Text HOME to 741741 from anywhere in the United States, anytime, about any type of crisis.
One suggestion for our overall mental health is for us to all get outside and walk, or do some kind of physical activity (while practicing social distancing). Something as simple as a walk can do wonders for the mood and help with anxiety.
