Please Pull Forward During Morning Carline Drop-off....Look for This Guy!

Please pull all the way forward when unloading students. Don't stop at either of the crosswalks in the front of the building unless one of our staff members stops you.

Be looking for this guy as a reminder of where drop-off begins.

Lunch Visits Will Begin August 15th

Students may have one lunch visitor per week beginning August 15th. We use the first two weeks of school to teach routines and procedures. We look forward to seeing you after the first two weeks.

Remember, according to regulations, you may not bring outside food or drinks from restaurants to students for lunch.

Please see our student handbook for more information.

Save the Date! Jack Anderson Elementary Parent Orientation

Save the Date! Jack Anderson Elementary Parent Night/Open House

K-2: August 15th 6:00-7:00

3-5: August 16th 6:00-7:00

We ask that you attend Parent Orientation without your children. It is important for you to be able to focus completely on the teachers' presentations.

Please be prepared to complete a JAE Enrollment Card at Parent Orientation!

At registration, we did not ask parents to complete a JAE Enrollment Card like we normally do. We decided to pull the information from Skyward to receive that specific information so that you didn't have another sheet to complete. However, when reviewing our Crisis Plan and Security Assessment, we determined that having the JAE Enrollment card on file in the office, and for grade level teachers is another component in contacting parents quickly in case of an emergency. Please print and complete the attachment and bring it to school during Parent Night/Open House, or complete it when you come that evening!

School Safety Assessment

Mrs. Sanders and our School Resource Officer (SRO) take safety seriously by ensuring our School Safety Assessment is complete!

Guidance Regarding Exposure to COVID-19

Per SCS, principals received updates regarding exposure to COVID-19. Students who are absent due to testing positive for COVID will not count as an absence for school purposes, and will not count towards chronic absenteeism. This is a provision authorized by the state. SCS will not be tracking close contacts for COVID exposure or sending out exposure notifications.

JAE Cross Country Team

Cross Country will be offered to students in grades 3rd thru 5th. Practice will be held every Monday at the Hendersonville library from 5:30-6:15. The kids will run on the greenway. The 1st practice will be August 22nd. Registration forms were sent home last week. Please contact Coach Hellman (mahlon.hellman@sumnerschools.org) if your child did not get a form and is interested in participating.

Wilson Bank & Trust

Jack Anderson is excited to have another great opportunity this year! In-School Banking is a hands-on in school program offered to students by Wilson Bank & Trust. The program teaches students the principles of saving money and the basics of banking transactions. Our School Bank Representative from Wilson Bank & Trust will be at JAE on Parent Night/Back to School Night. Be sure to stop by the table to learn more!

At Jack Anderson, we are so excited to add SPACE to our building as a resource to all students. The purpose of SPACE is to help students have success in the following areas:

-Social

-Physical

-Academic

-Cognitive

-Emotional

We want to ensure that students have the tools to be successful, to persevere through challenges, and to communicate their needs effectively. While we strive for academic excellence, we are aware that meeting the needs of K-5 students in the area of social and emotional learning, is just as important. If and when a student feels that he or she may need a break, they can ask to go to SPACE. SPACE is an actual room inside JAE where a classified staff member, Coach Amy will spend her day. She is extremely knowledgeable in helping students "reset" and breathe. SPACE is not a place where students go as a consequence, nor is it a place where students go if they are in an escalated state. Students will always return back to class to learn after they spend time in SPACE, and will use the skills they learn at Jack Anderson, and in the future.

Charges are as follows:

We have been notified by our new vendor TITAN Family Portal that they have had technical issues establishing our account to receive online payments from parents.

While they are addressing this issue, our MyPaymentsPlus system will remain available for parents to load student lunch payments online. All payments into MyPaymentsPlus will be automatically transferred into your student’s TITAN Family Portal account within 48 hours.

Parents may also load funds into their student’s lunch account by sending a check or cash to their school cafeteria with their students name and id number.

If your student is new to the district and you do not have a MyPaymentsPlus account, please contact your school cafeteria manager. Jennifer.osborne@sumnerschools.org.

Our Titan system should be available for online payments at the end of August. We will send further communication to parents at that time.

Money that was deposited in your child’s account for extras last year should transfer after you register in the TITAN program. Please email Jennifer Osborne in the cafeteria with questions at Jennifer.osborne@sumnerschools.org.
