Dear John Wetten Families,
The first five weeks have been busy here at John Wetten Elementary. It's been wonderful having students back in the building all day, five days a week, despite the interruption last week. These first few weeks have been a mix of teaching routines, academics, initial reading and math assessments, and building stamina. The students are doing an amazing job getting right back into the swing of things after being in distance learning for most of last year.
We wish we could hold a normal Open House and welcome everyone into the building, but this year it will be virtual. Our virtual Open House will be held on Thursday, October 14th from 5:30p - 7:00p, please see more detailed information below. We hope to see all of you at our virtual Open House!
In other news, we are fortunate to be able to add an additional first grade classroom to lessen class sizes from the high 20s to the low 20s. Our new first grade teacher is Toni Everts. Mrs. Everts brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to John Wetten, as well as a passion for teaching first graders. Welcome Mrs. Everts!
In Partnership,
Michael Clutter

PFO News
PFO Mission:
*Fundraising and Funds Disbursement
We raise money each fall through a Move-A-Thon. Those funds are then used for field trips, school supplies, classroom technology, grade level curriculum and other student centered programs or items requested by the school. All fund requests are voter approved through the PFO email loop.
*Student Enrichment Events, Programs, and Activities
*Building School-Wide Community
There are no monthly meetings to attend. (Unless you have joined a committee, there might be 1-2 throughout the year. These will be via zoom.) No monthly meetings allows our members to get involved when it is most convenient for them. Choose the things they want to be involved in, and it gives EVERYBODY a voice when we vote on issues and funding requests. For those wanting to be involved beyond the email loop we are looking for members for our various committees.
To join the e-mail loop, write to JWEPFO@gmail.com and request to be added.
